SageArchive is made by Reliqra, LLC. This page covers two separate things: this website, and the app.

The app

Your notes stay on your Mac

There is no SageArchive account and no SageArchive server. Your recordings, your handwritten pages, the text they are turned into and every question you ask are stored in a folder on your own computer that only your macOS account can open. None of it is sent to us. We have no copy, no backup and no ability to obtain one.

Two things you can choose to send elsewhere

Both are switched off when you install the app, and both are turned on by you, per device and per purpose:

• Cloud transcription. If you turn this on for a particular device, the audio of recordings from that device is sent to the transcription service you chose, using an API key you supplied. We are not in that path and we never see the audio.
• Cloud answering. If you turn this on, the text of the passages that answer a question is sent to the language-model provider you chose, using your own API key. Only those passages — not your archive.

In both cases the app tells you what would be sent and to whom before it sends it, and the relationship is between you and that provider under their terms, not ours.

Speech models

The first time you use on-device transcription, the app downloads the speech model it needs. That download is a file transfer and nothing else: it carries no information about you, and it happens once. After that the app works with the network switched off.

Your API keys

Keys you enter are stored in the macOS Keychain. The app writes them and never reads them back into its own interface, so a key cannot appear on screen, in a log or in an export. They are not transmitted to us.

No analytics in the app

The app contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting to us, and no advertising or tracking software of any kind. We do not know how many notes you have, which devices you use, or whether you opened it today.

This website

What we collect

If you give us your email address on this site, we store that address, the date you gave it, and which page you gave it on. That is the entire record. It is kept so that we can write to you once, when SageArchive is available.

We will not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone else, and we will not use it for anything other than telling you the app has shipped and, at most occasionally afterwards, that there is a new version. Every message will have an unsubscribe link. If you would rather be removed now, email us and it is done — see below.

What we do not collect

There is no analytics on this website. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party tracking scripts, no cross-site cookies. The site stores exactly one thing in your browser: whether you chose light or dark mode, so it can honour that next time. It never leaves your browser.

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request for the font file. That is the only third party this site contacts, and we are working to serve the fonts ourselves so that it contacts none.

Where it is kept

The site and the email list are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Since the most we ever hold is an email address, the answer to all three is quick. Write to privacy@sagearchive.com.

Children

SageArchive is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant and we hold your email address, we will tell you.
